Well done

Posted : 17 years, 1 month ago on 19 March 2007 09:58 (A review of An Inconvenient Truth)

this is a very well done presentation, that for about 5 minutes lets you think: "sell your car, stop heating your living room and get back to nature".

Surprise, surprise

Posted : 17 years, 1 month ago on 18 March 2007 08:52 (A review of Lucky Number Slevin)

If you like cool gangster movies with plot twists and suprising endings, this is for you. Reminded me of "usual suspects" and "two smoking guns".

Good fun - Weak challenge

Posted : 17 years, 1 month ago on 18 March 2007 06:14 (A review of Bully)

This latest game from the Rockstar Team lets you enjoy your school days again.

As usual with Rockstar, the presentation is marvelous. Solid graphics, professional speakers, tons of humor and many side quests.

The fact that's preventing me from giving it a higher rating is the level of difficulty. This game is just too easy. If you are experienced with games like GTA, you won't find a challenge here.

Still worth playing and good fun, although I am sure that I wont play it again ...

Too complicated

Posted : 17 years, 1 month ago on 16 March 2007 12:34 (A review of Shadow of the Colossus)

I rented this game, tried, failed the first monster and returned. The setting is certainly great, but you need many try outs and a high frustration tolerance to deal with it. I dont have the time for this kind of game anymore ...

disappointing

Posted : 17 years, 1 month ago on 7 March 2007 10:50 (A review of Eragon)

nothing here ... the book was not great, but ok, but the movie is an uninspirated collection of midlevel special effects ... they pushed every aspect of the story in a 2 min scene instead of concentrating on the points that matter.

great movie

Posted : 17 years, 1 month ago on 7 March 2007 10:30 (A review of The Lives of Others)

"Das Leben der Anderen" succeeds where so many other movies fail: telling a simple story in a way that all characters have enough room to develop. I enjoyed it, must see, i'd say!

Trip back in time

Posted : 17 years, 2 months ago on 15 February 2007 07:12 (A review of Roadie)

let's be honest: this movie is just crap. It has no story worth telling, lame cast and a b-class main actor whose acting isn't better than his singing.
4 points though because it brought back memories, taught me once again that the 80s weren't "the good old times" and featured some rock and country stars.

funny

Posted : 17 years, 2 months ago on 4 February 2007 10:49 (A review of Hui Buh: The Castle Ghost)

this movie was fun to watch, predictable plot, well casted crew, germen comedians, nice slapstick jokes, happy ending, ideal for winter evenings with the whole family.

Nonsense

Posted : 17 years, 2 months ago on 28 January 2007 11:02 (A review of Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan)

I read a lot about "satire", "political correctness", "shocking" and so on, but as DerMika pointed out already: I got much more from reading about this movie than from watching it.

Standing naked in an elevator or scaring the hell out of pam didn't make me love and I don't consider the just seen "satire", its just plain old nonsense, the referal to jackass hits it.

Four points though for the few spotlights even this movie had.
